Clubsport

Starting with the most 'OE+' option, the Clubsport model. This is our personal favourite in the range, and is what we run on our development BMW F87 M2 Competition - call it practice what you preach!

Serving as the perfect blend of both road and track, the Clubsport Model retains all of the standard features of the original steering wheel, neatly organised within easy reach. The F8X model sports 10 laser-etched, back-lit buttons, as well as 2 rotary switches - allowing you to take a phone call, speak to the iDrive system (BMW), adjust the cruise control, sound the horn, alter your music volume, control the heads up display, as well as select your driving mode too.

And as mentioned above, each button is illuminated, which can be dimmed on your interior light control - they really do look the part on those evening drives!

This option is completely plug and play with no modification to any wiring required.

Clubsport Nürburgring

Next up is the Clubsport Nürburgring, which as the name suggests sways more towards the track side of things but does retain usability on the road. Appearance-wise, the Clubsport Nürburgring looks very similar to the Clubsport, but what differentiates the two is the use of the buttons...

When replacing the steering wheel, the end position of the wheel can sit a little further out which can make the stalks a little harder to reach. Combine this with a fixed race seat and you can quickly find reaching out for the stalks a little annoying! 

Thankfully, KMP have taken this into consideration and as such incorporated the function of headlight flashing, windscreen wiper operation and indicator control on to the illuminated buttons - so you could say they're literally at the push of a button! And to keep it on the track-theme, you can also toggle the Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) as well as set a 60kph limiter too.

Some features on this particular option will require splicing of original wiring, but all wiring, connectors and installation instructions are supplied with the kit.

Pro-Line

The third and final offering is the Pro-Line and yes you guessed it, this one is the track-orientated option for those fully-fledged track toy builds.

The Pro-Line offering has a more motorsport style appearance with coloured high-actuation force buttons, which are commonly seen in the military and aviation. You can go anywhere from 4,6-10 buttons, or 8 buttons and 2 rotary switches. These buttons are focused towards on-track scenarios; such as high-beam flash, horn, turn indicators, traction control, start/ stop and many CAN-Bus capabilities.

Like the Clubsport Nürburgring, some features on this particular option will require splicing of original wiring, but all wiring, connectors and installation instructions are supplied with the kit.

As the Pro-Line is more track-focused, there are a whole-host of options/ layouts available so we'd recommend contacting us to discuss the options are available to you

Additional Customisation

Now we've taken a look in to the three main choices available, we can now dive in to the additional level of customisation available to really make your racing wheel your own. 

Hub Options

You can spec any of the above wheels with any of the following hub options - 

  • Normal Hub - the standard option.

  • Quick-release - allows you to fully remove the wheel without wires.

  • Wired quick-release - a popular choice in race cars.

  • Crash-hub - the safer option in the event of an impact. 
  • Spacer - brings the steering wheel out even further to suit your seating requirements.

Finish Options

There are three choices of finish to the contact surface -

  • Suede
  • Black or Grey Alcantara
  • Leather

Clubsport Garage recommend going for grey alcantara for the most OE+ BMW finish.

DCT Paddles

Those of you who have a DCT transmission will benefit from the high-quality, carbon fibre magnetic paddles, which give that satisfying 'click' upon each and every gear change. 

Shift Lights

Featuring 8 RGB LEDs elegantly integrated into smoked black light tubes within the carbon plate, this system offers adjustable light intensity either via the interior light switch or automatically through the built-in light sensor. The maximum RPM and RPM delta are customisable through KMP. The typical LED sequence is: 2 green, 2 blue, 2 yellow, 2 red, followed by all LEDs flashing red.

Custom Center Cap

A custom centre cap can be created to replace the standard KMP branded version.

Custom Stitching

All steering wheels come with black stitching as standard, however this can be customised to different colours such as 'm' stitching or another colour subject to availability.

12 O'clock Band

12 o'clock bands are also available with yellow being most common colour, but again other colours are available, subject to availability. 

All additional customisation is available at an additional cost.
