Product Description

The do88 Performance Turbo Inlets are a direct-fit airflow upgrade for BMW F8X M2 Competition, M3 and M4 models fitted with the S55 twin-turbo engine. Designed to reduce restriction immediately before the turbochargers, they replace the factory inlet pipework with a higher-flow front and rear inlet package developed specifically for the tight packaging of the F8X engine bay.

The original BMW S55 turbo inlet pipes are relatively restrictive, which can limit airflow into the turbochargers on tuned and performance-focused builds. Reducing restriction on the inlet side is especially important where boost response, turbo efficiency and consistent high-load performance are priorities.

do88 developed this kit using a detailed 3D scan of the BMW M3 Competition engine bay, allowing the inlet shapes to be optimised within the extremely limited available space. The result is a carefully engineered front and rear turbo inlet package designed to improve airflow while retaining straightforward drop-in fitment.

The do88 inlets increase diameter from 55mm OEM to 63mm, giving a 33% larger flow area. In flow testing, the upgraded inlet pipes achieved 778 CFM at 75mbar pressure drop, compared with 690 CFM for the factory pipes, resulting in a 13% airflow improvement over OEM.

The rear turbo inlet uses a custom aluminium pipe with a welded CNC-machined turbo connection radius flange, while the front inlet uses a 3D freeform steel wire reinforced silicone hose with a CNC-machined radius adapter. This combination improves durability, fitment and airflow into the turbochargers, while matte black hose clamps provide a clean, discreet engine bay finish.

FAQs

Why replace the original pipework?

The factory pipework can be restrictive or vulnerable to cracking and boost leaks, particularly on tuned or hard-driven cars. Upgraded DO88 pipework helps improve reliability and maintain consistent boost pressure.

Is this suitable for tuned vehicles?

Yes. This type of upgrade is particularly relevant for tuned applications where higher boost pressure and heat place more demand on the original pipes and connections.

Will it improve performance on its own?

It is primarily a reliability and airflow upgrade. The biggest gains are usually seen as part of a wider intake, intercooler and tuning package, but reducing restriction can improve response and consistency.

What should be checked after installation?

All clamps, couplers, seals and sensor connections should be checked carefully. A boost leak test is recommended before sustained hard use.

Damaged Shipments

If your parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery or note the damage with the courier. If damage is discovered after opening, contact us immediately with photos. Do not install damaged items, as installation voids courier claims and return eligibility.

Returns

Returns must be authorised before sending anything back. Returns must be requested within 14 days of delivery and returned within 14 days of approval, in unused/uninstalled condition and in original packaging. Some items, including special-order, built-to-order, used, installed, or modified parts, are non-returnable.
