AST 5100 Coilovers – BMW F80 M3, F82 M4 & F83 M4

Product Description

AST 5100 coilovers for the BMW F80 M3, F82 M4 and F83 M4 combine adjustable ride height with single-adjustable rebound damping. Street, Street Performance and Club Racing versions offer a choice of mounting equipment and rear spring layout, rather than three different levels of damping adjustment. Each configuration uses supplied springs and rebuildable high-pressure monotube dampers with inverted front struts.

AST coilover technical overview

Damper design & adjustment: Rebound adjustment changes the resistance as the damper extends after being compressed. Ride height is established through the spring platforms, and adjusting one does not replace the need to set the other correctly. Front camber adjustment, where provided by replacement top mounts, is another separate part of the vehicle's alignment setup.

Configuration differences

Street retains the original top mounts and the separate rear spring and damper arrangement.

Street Performance adds camber-adjustable front top mounts, with the original rear mounts and separate rear springs retained.

Club Racing includes camber-adjustable front and solid rear top mounts and uses true rear coilovers, placing the rear springs on the dampers. For Street Performance and Club Racing, select the correct three-bolt pre-LCI or five-bolt LCI front mounting specification. The Street configuration reuses the original front mounts and covers the listed applications without a separate replacement-mount fixing choice. Drop links are confirmed with the Street kit. Wheel and tyre clearance must still be checked with the car's actual wheel specification and chosen ride height.

Installation & setup: For cars fitted with factory Electronic Damper Control, Clubsport Garage recommends coding out EDC when fitting non-electronic coilovers, where supported for the vehicle. A compatible KW EDC cancellation kit is a separately available hardware alternative. The replacement dampers are manually adjusted and do not retain factory electronic damping adjustment.

FAQs

Does changing the damper setting change the spring rate or ride height?

No. Rebound adjustment changes damping resistance. Ride height is set through the spring platforms, and the spring rate remains a property of the installed spring.

Can the dampers be serviced?

Yes. The AST 5100 uses rebuildable dampers. Servicing should follow AST's requirements for the particular application and use.

Does the car need an alignment after fitting?

The alignment should be checked and set at the chosen ride height. Wheel and tyre clearance also needs checking with the car's actual wheel specification.

Dispatch Times

Most stocked items dispatch within 1–2 business days. Some products may have longer lead times due to special ordering, availability, or build times. If your order contains multiple items, they may be shipped together once all items are ready unless otherwise agreed.

Import Duties & International Orders

International customers are responsible for all import duties, taxes, and clearance fees. These are not included in our prices and are outside of our control. Refusal or non-payment of import charges may result in return shipping, handling fees, and customs charges being deducted from any refund.

Damaged Shipments

If your parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery or note the damage with the courier. If damage is discovered after opening, contact us immediately with photos. Do not install damaged items, as installation voids courier claims and return eligibility.

Returns

Returns must be authorised before sending anything back. Returns must be requested within 14 days of delivery and returned within 14 days of approval, in unused/uninstalled condition and in original packaging. Some items, including special-order, built-to-order, used, installed, or modified parts, are non-returnable.

Warranty

Most products include a manufacturer’s warranty covering manufacturing defects only. Warranties do not cover wear and tear, improper installation, misuse or neglect, track use, competition or racing environments, labour costs, vehicle damage, downtime, or consequential loss. Warranty outcomes are determined by the manufacturer, not Clubsport Garage. Items must be returned for inspection at the customer’s cost unless agreed otherwise.

Fitment & Installation

Many products are aftermarket components and may require professional installation or minor adjustment. Perfect OEM-level fitment cannot be guaranteed. Professional installation by an experienced workshop is strongly recommended. Installed or used items cannot be returned.
