Product Description

The Nitron NTR R3 Coilover Kit is a competition-proven suspension upgrade for the BMW F82 M4, designed for drivers who want maximum damping control, chassis precision and setup flexibility. Suitable for the standard M4, M4 Competition and M4 CS, it is a serious suspension solution for fast road cars, track day builds, time attack applications and more developed motorsport-focused setups.

The NTR R3 offers fully independent 3-way damping adjustment, giving separate control over rebound, fast compression and slow compression. This allows the suspension to be tuned in detail around tyre choice, circuit conditions, road surface and driver preference, helping optimise braking stability, kerb response, corner entry, mid-corner balance and overall grip.

Depending on specification, the kit is available with external piggyback or remote reservoir configuration. Remote reservoir kits include Bi-Axis hose fittings for flexible and secure mounting, while optional quick-connect dry break fittings allow the reservoirs to be relocated into the cabin or engine bay without fluid loss. This is especially useful for competition or serious track builds where quick damping adjustments, protection from heat and cleaner installation are priorities.

For the F82 M4 platform, the kit is available in True Rear or Divorced Rear configuration. The True Rear setup combines the spring and damper into a single coilover unit for greater setup flexibility and a more focused track layout, while the Divorced Rear option retains the factory-style separate spring and damper arrangement.

Nitron supplies the NTR R3 with carefully developed Fast Road or Track spring rate options. The Fast Road setup is best suited to performance road use with occasional track days, while the Track setup provides increased stiffness, reduced body movement and sharper response for more demanding circuit use. Custom spring rates, spring lengths and damper lengths are also available on request.

Built around a high-performance monotube damper layout, large-diameter pistons, ultra-low friction internals and lightweight corrosion-resistant alloy components, the NTR R3 is engineered for consistent, fade-resistant performance under sustained load. Each kit is hand-built to order by Nitron in the UK and is fully serviceable, rebuildable and upgradeable for long-term use.

Suitable for BMW F82 M4 models produced from 2014-2020, this is a high-end suspension upgrade for owners looking to maximise control, confidence and repeatable performance from the F82 chassis.

FAQs

Will the Nitron NTR R3 kit fit my BMW F82 M4?

Yes. This kit is compatible with BMW F82 M4 models produced from 2014-2020, including the standard M4, M4 Competition and M4 CS.

What makes the Nitron NTR R3 different from the NTR R1?

The NTR R3 offers fully independent 3-way damping adjustment, with separate control for rebound, fast compression and slow compression. This gives a much wider setup range than the R1 and is better suited to serious track day, time attack, competition and advanced fast road builds.

What does 3-way damping adjustment mean?

3-way adjustment allows rebound, fast compression and slow compression to be tuned independently. This helps fine-tune how the car responds to braking, corner entry, kerbs, bumps, weight transfer and mid-corner balance.

Should I choose piggyback or remote reservoirs?

Piggyback reservoirs offer a compact installation, while remote reservoirs allow more flexible positioning and easier access for damping adjustments. Remote reservoir kits are often preferred for more focused track or competition cars.

What are quick-connect dry break fittings?

Quick-connect dry break fittings allow the remote reservoirs to be disconnected and relocated into the cabin or engine bay without fluid loss. This can improve access for quick setup changes and help protect the reservoirs from heat, road debris or impact.

What is the difference between True Rear and Divorced Rear?

The True Rear setup combines the spring and damper into one coilover unit, offering greater setup flexibility and a more track-focused layout. The Divorced Rear setup retains the factory-style separate rear spring and damper arrangement.

Which spring rate setup should I choose?

The Fast Road setup is best for road-biased cars with occasional track use. The Track setup is better suited to more serious circuit driving where sharper response, reduced body roll and greater high-speed control are priorities.

Is the Nitron NTR R3 suitable for road use?

Yes, particularly when specified with Fast Road spring rates. However, the NTR R3 is a motorsport-focused suspension kit, so ride quality will depend on the selected spring rates, rear layout and overall setup.

Can the kit be customised?

Yes. Custom spring rates, spring lengths and damper lengths are available on request, allowing the kit to be tailored to your vehicle setup, tyre choice and intended use.

Is the Nitron NTR R3 rebuildable?

Yes. The NTR R3 dampers are fully serviceable, rebuildable and upgradeable, making them a strong long-term suspension solution for serious F82 M4 builds.

How long does the kit take to arrive?

Each kit is hand-built to order by Nitron in the UK. Typical lead time is around 2-3 weeks, although this can vary depending on specification and availability.
