Product Description

The Nitron NTR R3 Coilover Kit is a championship-winning suspension system for the BMW E9X M3, designed for drivers who need serious adjustability, precision and repeatable performance on road and track. Suitable for the E90 M3 Saloon, E92 M3 (2007-2013), it is a high-end upgrade for fast road cars, dedicated track day builds and motorsport-focused applications.

The NTR R3 offers fully independent 3-way damping adjustment, giving separate control over rebound, fast compression and slow compression. This allows the suspension to be fine-tuned around tyre choice, circuit conditions, road surface, driving style and chassis balance, offering a much wider setup range than simpler single-adjuster systems.

Built around Nitron’s high-pressure monotube damper design, large-diameter pistons and low-friction internals, the R3 is engineered to deliver consistent, fade-resistant damping under repeated high-load use. Whether managing kerbs, braking stability, corner entry or mid-corner balance, the R3 gives the driver a high level of control and feedback.

For the E9X M3 platform, the kit is available in True Rear or Divorced Rear spring layouts, with Fast Road and Track spring rate options available. The True Rear configuration is often preferred for more focused builds requiring maximum setup flexibility, while the Divorced Rear option retains the factory-style separate spring and damper arrangement.

Depending on specification, the kit can be supplied with external piggyback or remote reservoirs. Remote reservoir kits include Bi-Axis hose fittings for flexible, secure hose routing, while optional quick-connect dry break fittings allow the reservoirs to be relocated into the engine bay or cabin without fluid loss, improving access and protection for serious track use.

Each kit is hand-built to order by Nitron in the UK using titanium and hard-anodised components for durability, corrosion resistance and long-term serviceability. Fully serviceable and rebuildable, the NTR R3 is a serious suspension solution for E9X M3 owners looking to extract greater composure, grip and confidence from the chassis.

FAQs

Will the Nitron NTR R3 kit fit all BMW E9X M3 models?

Yes. This kit is designed for BMW E90 M3 Saloon, E92 M3 Coupé and E93 M3 Convertible models produced from 2007-2013.

What is the difference between the Nitron NTR R3 and NTR R1?

The NTR R3 offers fully independent 3-way damping adjustment, with separate control for rebound, fast compression and slow compression. This gives a much wider setup range than the R1 and is better suited to more serious track day, race and highly developed road builds.

What does 3-way damping adjustment mean?

3-way adjustment allows rebound, fast compression and slow compression to be tuned independently. This gives more precise control over how the car responds to kerbs, bumps, braking, corner entry, mid-corner balance and weight transfer.

Should I choose piggyback or remote reservoirs?

Piggyback reservoirs offer a compact installation, while remote reservoirs allow more flexible positioning and easier access for adjustment. Remote reservoir kits are often preferred for track-focused cars where setup changes and thermal management are more important.

What are quick-connect dry break fittings?

Quick-connect dry break fittings allow the remote reservoirs to be disconnected and relocated without fluid loss. This makes it easier to position the reservoirs in the engine bay or cabin for improved access and protection.

What is the difference between True Rear and Divorced Rear?

The True Rear setup combines the spring and damper into a single coilover unit, which is often preferred for track-focused builds and greater setup flexibility. The Divorced Rear setup retains the factory-style separate rear spring and damper layout.

Which spring rate setup should I choose?

The Fast Road setup is better suited to road-biased cars with occasional track use. The Track setup is designed for more focused circuit driving where sharper response, reduced body movement and greater high-speed control are priorities.

Is the Nitron NTR R3 suitable for road use?

Yes, especially when specified with Fast Road spring rates. However, the NTR R3 is a motorsport-focused suspension system, so ride quality and NVH will depend on the selected spring rates, setup and vehicle use.

Can the kit be customised?

Yes. Custom spring rates, spring lengths and damper lengths can be specified for more focused builds, specific tyre choices or individual setup requirements.

Is the Nitron NTR R3 rebuildable?

Yes. The NTR R3 is fully serviceable and rebuildable, making it a strong long-term suspension upgrade for road, track day and motorsport use.

How long does the kit take to arrive?

Each kit is hand-built to order by Nitron in the UK. Typical lead time is around 2-3 weeks, although this can vary depending on specification and availability.
