Solve DCT Shift Issues Under Track G-Forces

On track, even with the factory fluid level, the BMW DCT transmission can suffer from slow shifts, mis-shifts, and fault codes due to insufficient oil circulation under sustained lateral G. We’ve experienced this first-hand in both street and full-race M3/M4 builds.

The solution is simple and effective: overfilling the DCT by 1 litre of fluid ensures proper oil coverage inside the transmission, keeping shifts sharp and reliable even in the most demanding conditions.


Motorsport-Derived GT4 Solution

This system borrows directly from the BMW M4 GT4 factory design. Instead of attempting to overfill through the side of the transmission (where fluid immediately runs out), the dry-break allows you to:

  • Pump in an extra 1 quart (0.95L) of fluid after factory-level fill.

  • Quickly and cleanly close the valve when complete.

  • Achieve precise overfill without mess or spillage.


Installation & Use

  • No modification required – banjo fitting is the correct size for BMW DCT.

  • The plug features an 8AN barbed fitting, compatible with most fill pumps and tubing.

  • You must follow the factory fill/level procedure first (using ISTA, Rheingold, or equivalent).

  • Only add the extra fluid after confirming the factory level is correct.
