The AP Racing CP9660 Pro 5000R Front Big Brake Kit (378mm) for the BMW E9X M3 is a serious braking upgrade designed for fast road, track day and motorsport applications. Built around AP Racing’s renowned CP9660 six-piston forged aluminium calipers, this system delivers exceptional stopping power, superior pedal feel and outstanding thermal capacity compared to the factory braking system.

Paired with 378mm two-piece discs, lightweight aluminium bells and precision mounting brackets, the kit dramatically improves heat management and braking consistency during repeated heavy braking. The larger disc diameter and motorsport caliper design allow greater braking torque and fade resistance, making it ideal for high-performance road cars and track-focused builds. The CP9660 caliper is widely used in motorsport brake systems thanks to its excellent stiffness, low weight and consistent braking performance.

Customers can choose between genuine AP Racing discs/rotors or a more cost-effective aftermarket option. At Clubsport Garage we have tested the aftermarket discs ourselves on our F87 M2 Competition track car with excellent results in terms of performance, durability and consistency. In addition, a number of customers who previously ran AP Racing discs have also switched to these aftermarket discs/rotors and reported positive results, making them a compelling option for those looking to reduce running costs without sacrificing performance.

The discs are available in grooved or J-Hook patterns. Each disc assembly is supplied pre-assembled with bells and mounting hardware already installed, ensuring correct fitment and simplifying installation.

The CP9660 calipers are motorsport grade and therefore do not use dust seals. This design allows them to operate reliably at much higher temperatures than typical road calipers. As a result, they are ideal for track and motorsport environments but may require more frequent cleaning and maintenance when used on the road, particularly in harsh weather conditions.

An optional anti-rattle / pad retention spring kit is also available for customers who plan to use the car on the road and want to minimise brake pad movement and noise during everyday driving.

Designed as a bolt-on upgrade using supplied brackets and hardware, this kit mounts directly to the factory uprights and delivers a true motorsport braking solution with OEM-level fitment and reliability.
