Product Description
AST 5300 Motorsport coilovers for the BMW E82 1M and E9X M3 provide independent rebound, low-speed compression and high-speed compression adjustment alongside adjustable ride height. The three-way system gives separate control over the compression response at different damper velocities, rather than treating all compression movement as one setting.
Damper design & adjustment: The high-pressure monotube dampers use inverted front struts and external reservoirs. Both compression controls are located on the reservoirs, with rebound adjusted separately. Low-speed and high-speed describe the damper's movement, not vehicle speed. Rebound governs resistance as the damper extends after compression, while the spring platforms establish ride height.
Mounting, supplied equipment & reservoirs: Springs and camber-adjustable front top mounts are supplied. Front camber adjustment changes the alignment at the upper strut mounting and is separate from the three damping controls. Rear mounting equipment follows the application-specific specification. Drop links are included with this kit, supplied under part number RAC-B1603SD for the listed 1M and M3 applications. The dampers are rebuildable, allowing servicing as part of their working life. Remote-reservoir installations require secure mounting and hose routing that provides clearance throughout steering and suspension travel. Reservoir mounting brackets are optional accessories. Their positioning should also allow sensible access to the compression adjusters once the kit is fitted.
Installation & setup: For cars equipped with factory Electronic Damper Control, Clubsport Garage recommends coding out EDC when fitting non-electronic coilovers, where supported for the vehicle. A compatible KW EDC cancellation kit is a separately available hardware alternative. The AST dampers remain manually adjusted. Ride height, alignment and wheel clearance should be checked together during installation before fine-tuning the damping settings.

Damaged Shipments
If your parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery or note the damage with the courier. If damage is discovered after opening, contact us immediately with photos. Do not install damaged items, as installation voids courier claims and return eligibility.
Returns
Returns must be authorised before sending anything back. Returns must be requested within 14 days of delivery and returned within 14 days of approval, in unused/uninstalled condition and in original packaging. Some items, including special-order, built-to-order, used, installed, or modified parts, are non-returnable.

Warranty outcomes are determined by the manufacturer, not Clubsport Garage. Items must be returned for inspection at the customer’s cost unless agreed otherwise.
Fitment & Installation
Many products are aftermarket components and may require professional installation or minor adjustment. Perfect OEM-level fitment cannot be guaranteed. Professional installation by an experienced workshop is strongly recommended. Installed or used items cannot be returned.
