Spring Rate Options – Tuned by Nitron for the BMW E9X M3
Each Nitron NTR R1 kit is supplied with carefully selected spring rates and damper lengths based on extensive development and testing. Nitron’s team take into account the unique characteristics of the E9X M3 to offer a setup that works exceptionally well out of the box.
Two options are available to suit different use cases:
Fast Road Setup
Ideal for high-performance road driving and occasional track use. Offers excellent control with a compliant ride.
-
Front: 120 N/mm
-
Rear (Divorced): 120 N/mm
-
Rear (True Coilover): Approx. 62 N/mm equivalent*
Track Setup
Designed for drivers who want sharper handling and improved chassis control at higher speeds or during trackdays.
-
Front: 140 N/mm
-
Rear (Divorced): 140 N/mm
-
Rear (True Coilover): Approx. 70 N/mm equivalent
True rear spring rates appear lower due to different mounting ratios and spring positions – overall stiffness is comparable.
Custom Options Available
Custom spring rates, spring lengths, and damper lengths can be requested to suit unique builds or preferences. Contact us before ordering and we’ll work with Nitron to tailor the kit to your exact needs.
True vs Divorced Rear – What’s the Difference?
True Rear Setup
Combines the spring and damper into a single coilover unit, mounted together. This is often preferred for track-focused setups due to its simplicity, reduced weight, and improved response.
Divorced Rear Setup
Retains the factory-style layout with separate spring and damper. This option maintains the original suspension geometry and is a straightforward fitment for those who prefer the OEM configuration.
Which Should You Choose?
Both configurations offer excellent performance.
-
Choose True Rear for maximum handling sharpness and adjustability.
-
Choose Divorced Rear if you want to retain the OEM layout or prefer a more traditional installation approach.
Race-Bred Engineering for the BMW E9X M3
The NTR R1 shares its core architecture with Nitron’s full competition R3 kit. This ensures a level of damping performance, build quality, and longevity far beyond typical aftermarket suspension.
Low-friction internals and a monotube design ensure consistent performance even under repeated high-load use. Whether you're pushing hard on track or chasing precision on fast A-roads, the R1 is built to deliver.
