Product Description

The Nitron NTR R3 Coilover Kit is a motorsport-proven suspension upgrade for the BMW F80 M3, engineered for drivers who want the highest level of damping control, chassis feedback and adjustability. Designed for serious track day, competition and advanced performance road builds, the NTR R3 gives the F80 platform the precision and composure needed for repeated high-load driving.

Unlike simpler coilover systems, the NTR R3 offers fully independent 3-way damping adjustment, with separate control for rebound, fast compression and slow compression. This allows the suspension to be fine-tuned around tyre choice, circuit conditions, driving style and vehicle setup, giving greater control over kerb response, braking stability, corner entry and mid-corner balance.

The kit is available with either external piggyback or remote reservoir configuration depending on specification. Remote reservoir kits include Bi-Axis hose fittings for flexible, secure mounting, while optional quick-connect dry break fittings allow the reservoirs to be relocated into the engine bay or cabin without fluid loss. This is especially useful for serious track cars where adjustment access, protection and thermal management are important.

For the F80 M3, the NTR R3 is available in either True Rear or Divorced Rear configuration. The True Rear setup combines the spring and damper into one coilover unit for reduced weight and greater tuning flexibility, while the Divorced Rear setup retains the factory-style separate rear spring and damper layout.

Nitron supplies the kit with carefully developed Fast Road or Track spring rate options. The Fast Road setup is suited to high-performance road use with occasional track days, while the Track setup offers increased stiffness, reduced roll and sharper feedback for more focused circuit driving. Custom spring rates, spring lengths and damper lengths are also available on request.

Built around a high-pressure monotube damper layout, large-diameter pistons, lightweight corrosion-resistant materials and titanium hard-anodised finishes, the NTR R3 is designed to deliver consistent, fade-resistant performance under demanding conditions. Each kit is built to order by Nitron in the UK and is fully serviceable, rebuildable and upgradeable for long-term use.

Suitable for BMW F80 M3 models produced from 2014-2018, this is a serious suspension solution for owners looking to maximise grip, confidence and adjustability from the F80 chassis.

FAQs

Will the Nitron NTR R3 kit fit my BMW F80 M3?

Yes. This kit is designed specifically for BMW F80 M3 models produced from 2014-2018.

What makes the Nitron NTR R3 different from the NTR R1?

The NTR R3 offers fully independent 3-way damping adjustment, with separate control for rebound, fast compression and slow compression. This gives a much wider setup range than the R1 and is better suited to serious track day, competition and advanced performance builds.

What does 3-way damping adjustment mean?

3-way adjustment allows rebound, fast compression and slow compression to be adjusted independently. This helps fine-tune chassis behaviour for braking stability, kerb response, corner entry, mid-corner balance and overall grip.

Should I choose piggyback or remote reservoirs?

Piggyback reservoirs offer a more compact installation, while remote reservoirs allow more flexible positioning and easier access for adjustments. Remote reservoir kits are often preferred for track-focused builds where setup changes are made regularly.

What are quick-connect dry break fittings?

Quick-connect dry break fittings allow remote reservoirs to be detached and relocated without fluid loss. They are useful for moving reservoirs into the engine bay or cabin for easier access, improved protection and a more motorsport-style installation.

What is the difference between True Rear and Divorced Rear?

The True Rear setup combines the spring and damper into a single coilover unit, offering reduced weight and greater setup flexibility. The Divorced Rear setup retains the factory-style separate rear spring and damper layout.

Which spring rate setup should I choose?

The Fast Road setup is best for high-performance road use with occasional track days. The Track setup is better suited to more focused circuit use, with increased stiffness, reduced roll and sharper feedback under load.

Is the Nitron NTR R3 suitable for road use?

Yes, particularly when specified with Fast Road spring rates. However, the NTR R3 is a motorsport-focused suspension kit, so ride quality will depend on the selected spring rates, rear layout and overall setup.

Can the kit be customised?

Yes. Custom spring rates, spring lengths and damper lengths are available on request for specific road, track or competition builds.

Is the Nitron NTR R3 rebuildable?

Yes. The NTR R3 dampers are fully serviceable, rebuildable and upgradeable, making them a strong long-term suspension solution for serious F80 M3 builds.

How long does the kit take to arrive?

Each kit is built to order by Nitron in the UK. Typical lead time is around 2-3 weeks, although this can vary depending on specification and availability.
